In the past, we’ve taken our 3DSes on vacations, on public transport and to hospital waiting rooms because it’s so easy to pick up and drop games and put them into sleep mode on this tiny handheld device whenever it needs your attention .
These days, we’re more likely to carry a Nintendo Switch with us whenever we know there’s going to be a lot of downtime, and while the Switch isn’t quite as portable as the chocolate bar-sized 3DS, it can still fit in a bag or a Very Big pockets, if you’re lucky. Many games on Switch also slot in perfectly for 15 to 30 minutes of gameplay – so we’ve rounded up some of the best here!
It is worth noting that any A roguelike or puzzle game is good for short play, but we tried to keep it diverse, online multiplayer, story games, and even RPGs are great for short play. enjoy!

Like its predecessor, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 combines Sega’s Puyo Puyo series with Tetris’…well, Tetris. Players can choose to play either mode in single-player, or combine them in the weird Fusion mode, where Puyos and Tetrominos drop into your play area at the same time. Like the original, the main core of the single-player game is Adventure Mode. As before, the adventure is a lengthy story mode with various strange and eccentric characters involved in a bizarre plot about Puyo Puyo and the Tetris world colliding.
While we tend to think PPT2 is best played with friends, Tetris itself is always a great time filler, and this one is no exception. If you want something more, you can also opt for Tetris Effect Serious.
