Dream House | Greenwich home stuns with high impact architecture, design | Lifestyle

You’ll never understand the essence of living on a cloudy hillside, at a high altitude adjacent to the sky – until you come here yourself and embrace its life-changing lifestyle.

Today, we find ourselves in such a place. Designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a World Heritage Site, it has been assessed as having “Outstanding Universal Value” for humanity. Lush terrain including wildlife with 1,000 species of plants and 200 species of birds (many found only in Jamaica); springs and waterfalls; hiking trails and biking adventures; views to die for; Peace, silence and health in the environment.

This is part of the Blue Mountains and John Crow Mountains National Park, and within its boundaries there is also a community of 4,000 feet above sea level in Newcastle known as Greenwich. Here, we reveal mountain dwelling discoveries with high-impact architecture and interior design.

For Tania and David McConnell (co-owners of one of the largest wine and spirits distributors), Sky’s Modern Home Far From Home is a three-story six-bedroom in the clouds (the master bedroom has its own office) , with seven bathrooms. The exposed wood beam ceiling living and dining spaces flow effortlessly and the focal point is the fireplace exuding warmth, creating a relaxing and romantic atmosphere! In fact, there are two. In the basement there is a games room and a TV room with pool and ping pong tables.

A multi-level wrap-around viewing and relaxation deck extends outwards from the living, dining and sleeping areas, perched atop Kingston and the surrounding alpine mountains at the breathtaking heights of Mother Nature. Seamlessly integrated with the building’s exterior lines is the heated infinity pool. The spa tub is bubbling elsewhere.

Built on a quarter acre lot, construction was very challenging due to the weather and location. Floors are green heart wood floors. The kitchen counters have a quartz finish and are light grey on the outside and light grey and beige on the inside.

This is discovery heaven! The pinnacle of your dreams, hidden beneath the social pressures below. Do you really have the urge to go down the mountain? Or do you have concerns about such behavior? The choice is entirely up to you.
