• Monmouth County Park System will be hosting purse seine operations along Sandy Hook Bay at the Bayshore Waterfront Park in Middletown, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, July 1-29, from 11am-noon. Meet on the beach near the parking lot. Pull up long seine nets along the edge of Sandy Hook Bay to spot a variety of fish, crabs and other marine life. Closed-toed shoes are required. Parents or guardians must accompany and supervise their children. Swimming is prohibited during the event. This program is designed for individuals and families. Weather permitting. free. • Monmouth County Park System will be hosting a stove demonstration at the historic Longstreet Farm in Homedel on July 30th from 11am-3pm. Check out how to cook on a wood stove and discover how recipes, cooking techniques and kitchens have changed since the 1890s. free. Details: 732-842-4000.

• Monmouth County Park System will be hosting Historic Battery Lewis tours at Hartshorne Woods Park in Rocky Point Heights on July 23rd, 24th, 30th and 31st from noon to 4pm. • Monmouth County Park System will be hosting the Seabrook-Wilson House tour at Bayshore Waterfront Park in Middletown from July 24th to 31st from 1-4pm. • Monmouth County The Park System will be presenting Tidal Tuesdays – Seine the Cove at Fisherman’s Cove Reserve in Manasquan on July 26th from 11am-noon. Explore the variety of fish, crabs and other marine life found along the bay in this park system naturalist-led seine program. Closed-toed shoes are required. • Monmouth County Park System will present Enviro-Quest at Thompson Park in Lincroft on July 21st at 11am, meet at the Old Orchard parking lot; and July 28th at Big Creek Park in Marlboro at 11am, meet at the marina. Follow the Enviro-Quest signs to where the park system naturalist is waiting. Take a small nature class, activity or nature fun with a 30 to 60 minute walk. • Monmouth County Park System will demonstrate life in freshwater ponds at Freneau Woods Park in Aberdeen Township from July 21-28, meet outside the visitor center from 11am-noon. Join a park system naturalist and explore freshwater ponds in search of basking turtles, jumping frogs, hunting herons, splashing fish and more. Wear open-toed shoes. • Monmouth County Park System will be presenting “Summer Under the Stars” at the Dorbrook Recreation Area on Route 537 in Colts Neck on July 20 from 10-11 p.m. Meet in the football stadium parking lot. • Monmouth County Officials A shredding event has been arranged to give residents the opportunity to safely dispose of old and confidential documents. All shredding events will be held at the following locations: August 20, Aberdeen Municipal Services Building, 1 Aberdeen Plaza; September 10, Union Beach Recycling Centre, 1400 Florence Avenue; and Nov. 12, Middletown, 63 Tyndall Avenue, Middletown North High School. County residents can shred up to 100 pounds of documents. Large binders must be removed from the file; staples and paper clips can remain.
